Research Progress on Mesoporous Silica in Cancer Therapy

Abstract

Abstract: Mesoporous silica nanoparticles（MSNs）have attracted much attention for their potential biomedical applications due to its distinctive mesoporous structure,favorable biocompatibility,large specific surface area,tunable pore size,and well-defined surface properties. The drug delivery system based on mesoporous silica nanoparticle have become a research focus for many researchers. Here firstly,we discuss the limitations and challenges while applying the combinations of MSNs with peptides,antibodies and antibody fragments,aptamers,and immunotherapies in cancer therapy. Finally,we analyze the existing problems and outlook the future development trends of mesoporous-silica-based drug delivery systems in practical applications.
