Biotechnology Bulletin was launched in 1985, Monthly journal, supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in PRC, sponsored by the Institute of Agricultural Information of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and published by the Editorial Department of Biotechnology Bulletin. Editor-in-Chief is Dr XIE Qi.
Biotechnology Bulletin focuses on latest advancement in the field of biotechnology relating to agricultural science mainly, such as plant science biotechnology, microbiology biotechnology, and animal science. It is committed to creating an excellent platform for the spreading and exchanging of academic achievements for the academic community.
Biotechnology Bulletin is a peer-review journal, and all articles published in this journal have been strictly peer reviewed. Article types include reviews and monographs, research reports, techniques and methods.

In 2019, Biotechnology Bulletin was assessed to be qualified into Excellence Action Plan for China’s STM Journals launched jointly by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State Press and Publication Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
