Abstract: Gene editing is a powerful set of techniques for site-directed modification and knockout or insertion of the genes on genome or its transcripts. Recently, gene editing techniques have been greatly developed, which not only significantly promotes the process of gene function investigation, but also shows the potential applications for human genetic disease treatments. Here,we summarized the principles, advantages, disadvantages, and applications of gene editing methods including CRISPR/Cas9,CRISPR/Cpf1,Ago/gDNA and SGN in order to provide necessary informations on gene editing for the relevant scientific research.

Key words: Gene editing, CRISPR/Cas9, CRISPR/Cpf1, Ago/gDNA, Structure-guided Nuclease
