Research Progress on Intestinal Microbe and Sex Hormone Related Diseases

Abstract: Trillions of microbes inhabit the human intestine,forming a complex microecological community. It is clear that intestinal microorganisms provide nutrients and energy to the host and are involved in the occurrence and development of human diseases. With the deepening of relevant researches,growingly evidences indicate that changes in intestinal microorganisms cause variations in sex hormone levels,thus leading to a series of related diseases. In this review,we discuss the relationships between intestinal microorganisms and sex hormone-related diseases such as polycystic ovary syndrome,breast cancer and ovarian cancer,etc.,aiming to provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases.
