Abstract: 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid(ACC)synthase(ACS)is the key rate-limiting enzyme of ethylene biosynthesis. The activity of ACS enzyme is the basis of ACC or ethylene regulates plant growth and development. This regulation is mainly involved in various levels:transcription, post-transcriptional modification, enzyme structure formation, biochemical characteristics, and so on. Here we briefly review the research progresses of ACS enzymic activity.

Key words: ACS enzyme, Activity regulation , Ethylene
