Research Progress on Methods of Removing Marker Genes in Transgenic Plants

摘要: 随着越来越多的转基因植物品种的出现,转基因植物的环境安全及食用安全越来越受到人们的广泛关注。目前存在的问题之一是转基因植物中抗生素或除草剂抗性的选择标记基因的存留。为了提高转基因植物的安全性,将转基因植物中选择性标记基因去除,不仅利于同一转基因植物的多次操作,而且更容易被人们所接受。就目前转基因植物中选择性标记基因去除的方法及其优缺点进行了横纵向的比较,希望对相关研究领域方法的选择方向具有指导意义。

Abstract: With more and more varieties of transgenic plants emerging, environmental and food safety from using transgenic plants have been attracting extensive public attentions. One of the current problems is that the selectable marker genes, usually having the antibiotic or herbicide resistance, remain in transgenic plants. In order to improve the safety of using transgenic plants, removing marker genes from transgenic plants is not only conducive to the multiple using the same transgenic plants, but also more likely to allow the transgenic plants accepted by people. The current methods of removing marker genes in transgenic plants were reviewed, and the advantages and disadvantages of each method were compared from all aspects, which have a guiding significance for selecting a proper method in this field.
