Abstract: Transcription factors are of DNA-binding proteins which can interact with eukaryotic gene promoter regions, specifically activate or inhibit gene’s transcription by interacting with other proteins or between them. Transcription factors are almost involved in the entire development process of Solanaceae(vegetative growth, reproductive growth and response to the external environment, etc). The research progress of several main transcription factor families such as MYB, NAC, WRKY, MADS and AP2/ERF in Solanaceae plants were reviewed, which is expected to provide a reference for the research and utilization of Solanaceae plants.

Key words: transcription factors, Solanaceae plants, gene expression
