Three New Chinese Records of Agaricales Species from Shanxi Province, China

Abstract:

Objective To accurately identify three agaric specimens collected from the Lyuliang and Taihang Mountains in Shanxi Province that are suspected to be new records for China, and to enrich the macrofungal species diversity of Shanxi Province. Methods A combination of morphological and molecular systematics was employed to determine the taxonomic status of the three species. Based on observations of macro-morphology and microstructural characteristics, and using ITS and other multilocus sequences, maximum likelihood (ML) and Bayesian inference (BI) phylogenetic trees were constructed for comprehensive analysis. Results Based on comprehensive morphological and molecular data, the three species were identified as Entoloma zuccherellii, Inocybe rufobrunnea, and Staktophyllus guttulatus, which are newly recorded species in China. The phylogenetic analysis results were highly consistent with the morphological identification. Conclusion This study reports the distribution of the three agaric species in China for the first time, expanding their known geographic range and providing new material for biogeographic and evolutionary research on related taxa.
