Abstract: Kalanchoë daigremontiana reproduces asexually by forming plantlets on the leaves. During the developing process, the plantlets experience the various stages similar to that of zygotic embryo. The development of the plantlet share features of both organogenesis and embryogenesis. Research has shown that SHOOT MERISTEMLESS(STM)gene is required for the formation of plantlet. LEAFY COTYLEDON 1(LEC1)gene is expressed during the development of plantlet, however,it is not needed in the formation of the plantlet of K. daigremontiana. The functions of FUSCA3(FUS3),SAHH and other relevant genes in the development of the plantlet of K. daigremontiana still needs further investigation. This paper summarized the development of K. daigremontiana plantlet and relevant genes, aiming at providing some references for related researches.
