In December 29，2020， Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) released the statistic result of sci-tech papers in China, Biotechnology Bulletin at first time was listed in the Hundred Outstanding Academic Journals in China as well as in the High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal of China. It consecutively has been selected as the Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations for recent 6 years.
Since 2020, the Ministry of Science and Technology has initiated the projects of Strategy Study on High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal of China and Service and Empowering System on High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal of China, and proposed the concept of creating high-quality sci-tech periodicals for improving the overall level of Chinese sci-tech periodicals.
Based on more than 20 bibliometrics indicators, using analytic hierarchy process, the weights of important indicators is scored by experts, and each journal is comprehensively evaluated according to its discipline.
ISTIC has released 5 assessment results on High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal of China in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2020, in each assessment over 300 sci-tech journals in Chinese were selected. Hundred Outstanding Academic Journals in China is released in each year since 2000.
