An Overview of High Throughput Biological Screening Methods and Its Application

Abstract: The emergence of genomics,proteomics,metabolomics and other molecular biology studies makes the rapid attainment and assessment of large amounts of biological data become extremely important. The traditional detection methods are time-consuming and laborious,and cannot satisfy the needs of contemporary biological science research for massive biological information. High Throughput Screening(HTS)methods are significant means of quick attainment of massive biological information. This paper will make an overview of microarray chip,microfluidic chip,pyrosequencing,fluorescence polarization immunoassay,quantum dot fluorescence immunoassay and multiple PCR,outline research focus and research results of HTS methods in recent years,and briefly introduce its application in food safety,medicine and other fields.
