Abstract: EMT(epithelial-mesenchymal transition)is one of the key steps for tumor cells to obtain their ability of invasion and metastasis. miR-155 is an important regulator for EMT and effects EMT by targeting the key proteins involved in this process and inhibiting their expression. The function of miR-155 is tissue-and cell-specific, which can promote or inhibit tumor invasion/metastasis in different tumor tissues and cell types depending on the biological characteristics of the targeted protein moleculars. It reviewed the relationship among miR-155, EMT and tumor invasion/metastasis.
